8 Healthiest Vitamins for Everyday Life

Research has shown that vitamins are beneficial to your health, helping you live longer and healthier lives. In fact, studies have shown that over half of Americans don’t take their daily vitamin, because they are either unaware of the benefits or because they simply don’t want to take them! There are certain vitamins that can help you improve your everyday life, no matter what you’re doing or how old you are. Here are the top 8 vitamins to help improve your health and overall quality of life.

1) Creatine

Creatine helps supply our muscles with energy—it stores energy in our muscle cells so we can access it quickly during high-intensity workouts. Creatine also supports neuron health and brain function, so it’s no surprise that creatine has been linked to improved memory. It is a chemical found naturally in body. It can be obtained by eating red meat and sea food.

2) Vitamin D

Vitamin D is often referred to as the sunshine vitamin because it can be made by your body when you are exposed to sunlight. If you don’t get enough sunlight, your body may not make enough vitamin D, which is crucial for strong bones and teeth. Vitamin D also helps maintain a healthy immune system and keeps your brain and nervous system healthy.

3) B12

If you’re active, you likely need more vitamin B12 than most people. Vitamin B12 helps red blood cells produce hemoglobin, which delivers oxygen to your body’s tissues. You don’t need much of it (2.4 micrograms a day), but supplementing your diet can give you a boost when it comes to energy and athletic performance, especially if you regularly exercise or play sports.

4) Calcium

Calcium is a mineral that helps build and maintain strong bones. It’s important for our bodies to create and regulate hormones and enzymes, as well as help blood clot when we are injured. We also use calcium to produce neurotransmitters—chemicals in our brains that carry signals from one nerve cell to another—and light-sensitive chemicals called photoreceptors, which convert light into electrical signals.

5) Magnesium

Magnesium is a great choice if you’re looking to improve your overall health and well-being. It can help you stay more alert, get a better night’s sleep, and have fewer aches and pains. Magnesium deficiency has been linked to several chronic conditions, including osteoporosis and heart disease, as well as certain mental health issues like anxiety or depression.

6) Potassium

A nutrient found in many fruits and vegetables, potassium is associated with lower blood pressure, improved heart health and weight loss. In particular, an increased intake of potassium from foods like avocados, bananas and citrus can decrease one’s risk of stroke by 10 percent. Additionally, people who maintain a daily intake of 3,000 milligrams of potassium have been shown to lose between five and seven pounds more than those who don’t.

7) Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Omega 3 fatty acids are known to reduce joint pain and improve cardiovascular health, among other things. To get your daily omega 3s, it’s a good idea to snack on nuts (if you don’t have a nut allergy), such as walnuts or almonds.

8) Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and immune system booster. It helps with tissue repair, prevents cell damage and boosts immunity. Vitamin C is vital to good health as it also helps our bodies absorb iron and makes collagen, which maintains skin, bones, tendons and ligaments. Good sources of vitamin C include citrus fruits like oranges and lemons, red bell peppers, broccoli and strawberries.
